There are thousands of different issues and causes close to our employees' hearts. Many give countless hours to help worthy organizations. We applaud their commitment and support their efforts with the Employee Volunteer Grant program. This program awards small grants to the nonprofit organizations where our employees regularly dedicate their volunteer hours.
CENTER FOR NEUROREHABILITATION SERVICES
Roberta “Jean” Brandly, a 19-year veteran of Anheuser-Busch’s Fort Collins brewery, knows the work of the Center for Neurorehabilitation Services firsthand. “I am a brain injury survivor,” she states. After her recovery, Brandly’s experience at CNS motivated her to become a volunteer. “The ability to assist those who are impacted by neurological disorders gives me great satisfaction,” Brandly explained. Recently Brandly received an employee volunteer grant for her work with the Center. “This program provided a wonderful opportunity for me to further increase the impact of my volunteer efforts at CNS,” states Brandly. “Many of the patients at the Center lack the means to pay for treatment. This grant will help those in need of care, when they truly need it the most.”
CIRCLE OF HOPE BRACELETS
“I have lost my father, sister-in-law, step father-in-law and four aunts to cancer. In addition, my husband, sister-in-law and I are cancer survivors,” states Alice Bartels, a St. Louis employee who recently received an employee volunteer grant. “I wanted to work with an organization that would support a variety of cancer causes and Circle of Hope has given me that opportunity.” For several years, Bartels has been involved with Circle of Hope Bracelets, a volunteer organization that makes and sells bracelets to raise money for cancer research, education, treatment and care. “The employee volunteer grant Circle of Hope received from Anheuser-Busch will go a long way in helping the organization further its mission in the fight against cancer.”
GIFTED PRODUCTIONS
Anheuser-Busch employee Marcia Williams always has loved theater and music. She founded Gifted Productions, a theater company that produces top quality musical and dramatic performances, in 2001 and achieved her lifelong dream. Williams has received an Employee Volunteer Grant each year since Gifted Productions was established and has used the funds to help produce the organization’s performances. In the last seven years, more than 100 volunteers have played a part in Gifted Productions either as actors and actresses or behind the scenes. Many of these individuals never dreamed they would have an opportunity to participate in a staged play or musical.
