JOÃO CASTRO NEVES
President and CEO, North America
Joao is an energetic, driven leader who brings 20 years of experience at ABI to his role. He relishes business challenges, and strives to empower everyone at A-B to dream big and work together as a team to deliver exceptional results. Before joining the North American team as president and CEO, João held several key finance and business roles at ABI, including the zone president role for Latin America South. João holds a degree in engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro and an MBA from the University of Illinois.
U.S. General Counsel
Katie has been with the company for 15 years and has been instrumental in ensuring the successful outcomes of some of the most high-profile litigations facing the company. In this role, Katie manages all commercial, litigation, regulatory, labor relations and other aspects of the U.S. legal agenda. Katie holds a JD degree from the University of Arizona and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Louis University.
Having joined the A-B family 24 years ago as an intern and risen through the ranks, Sandro believes passionately that people are at the core of everything we do. His enduring mission is to better understand both the people who enjoy our products and the people who create them. Currently, he’s responsible for all People functions in the United States and Canada. He has held key roles in Sales, Corporate Affairs and People, serving most recently as CSR director in Latin America North. Sandro holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.
VP, Legal and Corporate Affairs
Cesar Vargas joined us in 2017 as our North America Zone VP of Legal and Corporate Affairs. He’s spent more than 20 years managing public affairs activities worldwide on behalf of a variety of Fortune 100 companies. Over the course of his career he has managed communications and government relations initiatives, election campaigns, and outreach programs in Washington, D.C. and across all 50 states in the U.S. He has also overseen public affairs activities in more than 100 other countries around the world. Cesar was born and raised near Los Angeles and graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in Communications.
VP, Finance and Solutions
Nelson is passionate about every individual’s opportunity to make an impact on our company and its culture. His 19-year journey with AB-InBev has taken him from leading finance roles in Brazil to the Dominican Republic, through Western Europe and now to North America. Nelson finds inspiration in new challenges and in collaborating with his colleagues. He has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
No stranger to amazing brands, Marcel has spent his 11 years at our company working to connect our beers to both consumers and culture. Most recently, Marcel was our Global VP, Marketing Brands and Growth Development Platforms, and prior to that he led marketing for Skol, Brahma, Antarctica and our company’s activations at the 2014 World Cup. Now he brings his experience, energy and enthusiasm to his new role as A-B’s chief marketer for America’s favorite beers.
With a track record of growing businesses in South America, Central America and the Caribbean, Alex stepped into the role of VP of Sales in our North America Zone in early 2016. He’s known for his laser focus on commercial objectives, outstanding execution, relationship skills and creating an environment where his colleagues are proud to be on a winning team. Alex has a degree in business administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil.
VP, Procurement and Logistics
Over the past 21 years, Fued has built an impressive track record of results and transformation in our Procurement and Supply functions throughout his work in Latin America North, Canada and Europe. He believes in the power of teamwork and strives to always set examples of ownership, leadership, and pride in his teams and his work. Fued holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazil.
President, The High-End Business Unit
Felipe knows that today is the best day in the beer business — ever. As president of The High End, he leads the charge to make tomorrow even better; to create an even more promising future for the beers our consumers love. Felipe’s appreciation for great beer and amazing experiences led him to AB-InBev 17 years ago in Brazil as a global management trainee, and he never looked back. Today, he’s focused on finding new ways to make beer the most sophisticated beverage and to advance the category as a whole.
Dave’s passion is making great beer. In more than 20 years with the company, he’s put that passion to work at many of our breweries across the country, and most recently in leading our aluminum can, lid and glass bottle production. Now the head of Supply, Dave is tasked with overseeing our North American breweries and other facilities. Dave has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri and an MBA from the College of William & Mary.
BU President, Canada
A 17-year veteran with the company, Marcelo takes leadership seriously and prides himself on helping colleagues stretch to new potential. Throughout his time in leading sales roles in Brazil and the United States, and now as the BU president for Canada, Marcelo has personified A-B’s culture: dreaming big, taking ownership in our work, and pushing to the next level. Marcelo graduated from Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil with a degree in business administration, has an MBA from Business School São Paulo and attended the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
