OUR PLANET, OUR RESPONSIBILITY.
We understand the impact our business can have on the world around us, so we work tirelessly to reduce the environmental impact of our operations. As the world’s largest brewer, we are constantly looking for new ways to conserve, recycle and reduce waste, and use our resources wisely across our value chain.
Water is a critical ingredient in our products and plays a key role in our brewing process from seed to sip. As such, we’ve launched our Water for a Better World campaign to build on our commitment to water stewardship and environmental protection across our breweries and the communities in which we operate. As a part of this effort, we engage our employees and strategic partners to implement ways to conserve water and help improve access to clean water for communities in need.
Throughout our brewing process, we continue to make significant strides in addressing key environmental challenges by managing our energy and water use, and reducing carbon emissions. Some examples of our impact include:
- Reducing water use across all U.S. breweries by nearly 50
percent in the past 10 years.
- Recycling 99.8 percent
of all waste at our U.S. breweries
- Reducing packaging materials by more than 75,000 tons since 2009. In recent years, we’ve gone a step further by expanding our sustainable packaging and distribution practices. We aim to reduce the amount of materials used in our packaging by using more recyclable materials such as glass, cardboard, and aluminum.
As well as reducing the impact of our brewery operations, we work continuously with our farmers, suppliers, and distributors to improve sustainability and help create a cleaner world for our consumers and communities. This work is central to our strategy to help build a Better World.
When it comes down to it, we can’t brew quality beer without quality water and ingredients. Learn more about our major efforts in water stewardship, recycling, waste management and energy conservation by clicking below.
