Reduce, reuse, and recycle. We’ve all heard it. But at Anheuser-Busch we live it. Our employees are leading the way by identifying new ways to reduce, reuse and recycle at each of our facilities. We also provide single-stream recycling at a corporate level, so we can collect more materials for processing than ever before.
By making strategic reductions to our fiber, aluminum and glass packaging, we create a positive impact on the health of our environment.
Just since 2009, we’ve reduced the material in our packaging by more than 75,000 tons, and we’ve achieved a 99.75% recycling rate at our breweries. This helps:
- Reduce the depletion of natural resources
- Reduce the greenhouse gas emissions to create the packaging
- Reduce the waste that goes to recycling streams or landfills
We are also focused on working with our suppliers and new partners to implement new recycling projects to meet this goal. In Houston, we are partnering with the Closed Loop Fund to champion glass recycling, both through consumer education and investing in the infrastructure to improve cleaning, sorting, and quality of cullet.
Beyond our supply chain, we support consumer initiatives, including Keep America Beautiful in the U.S. that aim to protect the environment by improving waste disposal, sorting and recycling of post-consumer packaging.
