About Gifted Productions
Anheuser-Busch employee Marcia Williams always has loved theater and music. She founded Gifted Productions, a theater company that produces top quality musical and dramatic performances, in 2001 and achieved her lifelong dream. Gifted Productions also provides her with an outlet for her creative energy and provides an opportunity for her to involve people in the theater that might not have experienced it before.

Gifted Productions has performed 10 plays and musicals over the last six years, nearly all of which were original scripts written by Williams. Using music and theater, Gifted Productions hopes to reach families and increase multicultural awareness and harmony. For example, “Red, Ridin in the Hood,” a modern day, urban version of “Little Red Riding Hood,” was written to help demonstrate the consequences that follow disobedience.

In the coming months and years, Williams hopes to take Gifted Productions on the road and give performances in cities across the country. She also hopes that someday Gifted Productions will have its own St. Louis-based theater, classrooms for children’s programs and a rehearsal hall. One of her goals is to offer inner-city children a productive outlet to help keep them out of trouble.

Anheuser-Busch’s Support
Marcia Williams has received an Employee Volunteer Grant each year since Gifted Productions was established and has used the funds to help produce the organization’s performances. Additionally, Anheuser-Busch’s Sales Development and Community Affairs Department have provided consistent financial support totaling more than $10,000 since the organization was founded.

Impact
In the last six years, more than 100 volunteers have played a part in Gifted Productions either as actors and actresses or behind the scenes. Many of these individuals never dreamed they would have an opportunity to participate in a staged play or musical.

“Because of the support we have received from Anheuser-Busch, we’ve been able to make a difference in so many people’s lives,” said Williams. “I’m so proud to work for a company that is helping me achieve my dream. It is with their support that we’ve been able to introduce the theater and share our multifaceted message with so many people.”

This summer, Gifted Productions performed “Decades of Divas,” a musical tribute created by Williams spotlighting the music of some of the country’s best-known divas, including Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, Carole King, Billie Holiday, Etta James and more.
