Anheuser-Busch, Wholesalers and Area Consumers Raise More Than $63,000 for Backstoppers

On Wednesday night, police officers and firefighters from across the metropolitan area will step into the ring at Scottrade Center to help raise funds for the BackStoppers at the 25th Budweiser Guns ‘N Hoses boxing matches.  Anheuser-Busch, its area wholesalers and adult beer drinkers from across the region are joining in this effort by making a $63,808 contribution to the organization dedicated to assisting the families of police officers or firefighters who have perished in the line of duty.

 The donation includes a $50,000 gift from Anheuser-Busch and the proceeds of a promotion where area consumers made a donation to purchase a “Hometown Heroes” badge for display in bars and restaurants.  Local wholesalers also donated a portion of the proceeds from every 12-pack of Budweiser, Bud Light, Bud Select or Select 55 beer sold from Oct. 3 to Oct. 30. 

Anheuser-Busch wholesalers participating in this program were Grey Eagle Distributors, Lohr Distributing, Krey Distributing, H.W. Herrell Distributing, Illinois Distributing and Donnewald Distributing.  The donation will be formally announced during the 25th Budweiser Guns N’ Hoses event on Wednesday, Nov. 23,at Scottrade Center.
