ANHEUSER-BUSCH REIGNITES THE INDUSTRY

We pride ourselves on being there for the times that matter—times to celebrate, times to overcome, times to look forward. And, we have always been there to lift up our neighbors in times of need. During this crisis, we have continued to leverage our unique capabilities to support our communities by:

  • Producing and distributing nearly 12 million ounces of hand sanitizer
  • Hosting more than 90 socially distanced blood drives at stadiums across the country
  • Donating over $2 million in partnership with US Bartenders Guild, the James Beard Foundation and others to support out of work bar and restaurant workers
  • Finding creative ways to bring people together virtually through our beloved brands to provide some joy, comfort and normalcy

Our commitment will not stop here.

We are the country’s largest brewer and a leading manufacturer with nearly 60,000 jobs in the beer industry across the country. We have a responsibility to our partners – farmers, grocers, restaurant owners, wholesalers, union members, bartenders, drivers, and consumers – to play a leading role in our industry’s recovery.

When the time is right, we are here to play an active role in leading the strong, successful and safe recovery of the bar and restaurant community that has been so devastated. They are the gathering places for families and friends, the centers of neighborhoods, and the heart and soul of our industry. 

To support safe and successful reopenings across the country, we have joined the National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Revival Campaign as the exclusive beer partner. Through a national advertising campaign, Stella Artois and the National Restaurant Association will invite diners back into restaurants when it is safe to do so and encourage restaurants to sign the ServSafe Dining Commitment as they prepare to reopen. We have also committed $2.25 million to support this program through Stella Artois.

The safe recovery of our industry is vital to our nation’s long-term economic outlook.

Through our reach, scale, and relationships, we’re helping to support the industry on a variety of fronts. Alongside our family of brands, we have spearheaded local and national efforts to lift up bars and restaurants through unique programs, partnerships and donations:

  • With cold weather rolling in, the West Central Association teamed up with the Illinois Restaurant Association in partnership with Stella Artois for “Dining Together, Apart”, a campaign celebrating the creative steps restaurants are taking to keep serving consumers safely with winterized outdoor dining pods to encourage socially distant dining this winter.  
  • In addition to “Open for Takeout”, Bud Light also launched “Bud Light: Certified Fresh” - an initiative where we and our distributor partners replace any Bud Light that is past its ‘best before’ date at no cost to restaurants and bars, to ensure that when people can safely return, they are greeted with the freshest tasting, highest quality Bud Light possible. 
  • Stella Artois continued our long-term support of the James Beard Foundation’s restaurant relief campaigns with a donation for each Stella Artois or Stella Artois Midnight Lager draught sold in US bars and restaurants this November and December, up to $250,000.  
  • We are using advertising expertise of our brands to help encourage and celebrate the safe return to the on-premise, including broadcast commercials from our flagship brand, Budweiser.
  • Our Brewers Collective craft breweries are working with restaurant and hospitality associations in their local markets to help support economic recovery in their own backyards. Together, our brewery partners have contributed more than $1,000,000 to local assistance organizations and donated thousands of meals to support essential workers in their communities. The recovery efforts don’t stop there: In 2021, our craft breweries will be rolling out new initiatives to continue supporting the communities we call home. 
  • Our Master Cicerones®, brewmasters, founders and beer fanatics are also sharing and showcasing industry knowledge on topics like beer styles, pouring techniques, and flavor evaluation sourced from and for an audience of beer lovers and industry personnel alike in our latest “Thinking Beer” series.

We are also using our unique scale to help connect Help Main Street with a host of business partners that are able to assist laid-off and furloughed members of the community to generate supplemental income.

To support our wholesaler partners and alleviate the pressure from increased inventory and expired product, we extended date codes on some draught and packaged beer, we shared the cost of recovering and disposing of expired product and launched a growler program.

As the country works towards reigniting the economy, we remain committed to safely bringing people together for richer conversations, sweeter celebrations and stronger communities.
