Check the calendar — it’s officially summer!
As the season of beach trips, pool parties, baseball, barbeques — and of course, enjoying an ice cold beer in the sun — kicks off, now is always an ideal time to remind adults of legal drinking age to celebrate the summer responsibly, particularly if your plans involve hitting the road at any point.
This year, show that you #GiveADamn when it comes to celebrating summer by getting a ride, calling a cab, taking a train, or having a designated driver. Whatever you do, care enough to get home safely.
Over the past three decades, the number of drunk driving-related fatalities have been cut in half, but we’ve still got work to do when it comes to making responsible drinking part of the summertime celebrations. Since the launch of our first responsible drinking campaign in 1982 – “Know When to Say When” – we, and our wholesalers, have committed more than one billion dollars to national advertising campaigns and community-based programs to promote responsible drinking.
No excuses — drunk driving related fatalities are 100 percent preventable, and we all have a part to play in keeping our roads safe. So remember, whenever alcohol is involved this summer, care enough to commit to keeping our roads — and loved ones — safe.
Simply put: #GiveADamn. Don’t Drive Drunk.
