Anheuser-Busch's Inaugural Eclipse Summit Brings Together Leading Industry Partners to Drive Meaningful Action on Sustainability

Anheuser-Busch's Inaugural Eclipse Summit Brings Together Leading Industry Partners to Drive Meaningful Action on Sustainability

November 22, 2019, St. Louis, MO – This week, Anheuser-Busch held its inaugural Eclipse Summit, hosting senior representatives from the company's leading suppliers and partners to discuss best practices and align on collective action to solve shared sustainability challenges.

As part of the brewer's ongoing commitment to environmental protection, the global Eclipse platform and this week's event were launched as a dedicated program to foster sustainability collaboration between suppliers and partners. With representatives from transportation, packaging and agriculture to the company's commercial and NGO partners, the summit featured leading voices from across the brewer's entire value chain to engage in conversation on shared goals and target-setting, standardized methods of measurement, and best practice communication.

“At Anheuser-Busch, we are committed to improving sustainability across our entire value chain and inspiring our partners to do the same,” said Ingrid De Ryck, Vice President of Procurement and Sustainability at Anheuser-Busch. “The Eclipse Summit has served as an incredible opportunity to lay the foundation for long-term strategic collaboration alongside our key suppliers to help us achieve our 2025 Sustainability Goals and our collective vision of a better world.”

Alongside the company's senior leadership – including Global Chief Procurement, Value Creation, and Sustainability Officer, Tony Milikin, and Anheuser-Busch CEO, Michel Doukeris – attendees came together to discuss cutting-edge technologies and key operational strategies that both Anheuser-Busch and their partners are using to advance sustainability priorities and create a better world. Under the Eclipse platform, Anheuser-Busch will continue to foster this collaboration by giving companies across the country the ability to work together to identify and scale new sustainability solutions.

In conjunction with the event, Anheuser-Busch and partners Nikola Motor Company and BYD Motors LLC also completed the brewer's first ‘Zero-Emission Beer Delivery' in the United States. The milestone delivery utilized both companies' innovative fleet technology to deliver a load of Bud Light from the local Anheuser-Busch brewery in St. Louis to the Enterprise Center, home of the St. Louis Blues, with zero-emissions from transportation.

Last year, Anheuser-Busch launched its 2025 U.S. Sustainability Goals focused on four key areas: renewable electricity and carbon reduction, water stewardship, smart agriculture, and circular packaging to help guide their industry-leading sustainability efforts. The inaugural Eclipse Summit represents yet another important milestone in this commitment to protecting the environment across the brewer's value chain, from seed to sip.
