DRIVING THE INDUSTRY TO A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

The transport industry is one that is prime for innovative solutions and at Anheuser-Busch, we are continuously searching for ways to improve sustainability across our entire value chain and drive our industry forward.
As part of our global net zero ambition and 2025 Sustainability Goal to reduce our carbon emissions across our value chain by 25% by 2025, we are committed to investing in partnerships to help improve the sustainability of our logistics operations.
Nationally, we travel a lot of routes and different distances to deliver our products over 250 million miles each year and we work with many digital freight partners to use the benefits of data and technology to help ensure that we are delivering each beer in the most efficient and sustainable way possible.
We also plan to convert our entire dedicated fleet to renewable energy-powered trucks by 2025. In fact, we have already transitioned more than 180 trucks in our St. Louis and Houston dedicated fleets to renewable natural gas, one of cleanest burning fuels available.
We are also continuing to explore innovative, alternative fuel solutions as they come to market – including placing an order for hydrogen-electric powered semi-trucks from Nikola, a pioneer in hydrogen-electric renewable technology.
Most recently, we announced a partnership with Hyliion to participate in their Hypertruck Innovation Council to actively support the development of Hyliion's Hypertruck powertrain solution. The most impactful technologies come from close collaboration with experienced and innovative minds, and by participating in the Hyliion Hypertruck Innovation Council, we can support the development of a transportation solution that meets the complex needs of today's fleets while working to build a more sustainable future.
In our short-haul fleet, in partnership with BYD Motors, we have deployed 25 battery electric trucks in our California fleet as part of a state project to showcase economically and environmentally sustainable warehousing and distribution technology - with an additional 20 trucks to be added in 2022.
To highlight the power of these partnerships, in February 2022 ahead of the Super Bowl in Los Angeles, we teamed up with both Nikola Corporation and BYD Motors to deliver Bud Light NEXT, the brand’s first-ever zero carb beer that breaks the barriers of a traditional lager, using only zero-emissions vehicles.
No single company can build a more sustainable future alone but our zero-emission delivery has shown what is possible when we bring together the various strengths and assets within our network to work together to create a future with more cheers.
