Brand inspires consumers to tap into a vacation state of mind wherever they are with new campaign

NEW YORK, NY – July 10, 2019 – Today, Stella Artois officially launches its new television ad starring award-winning actor, DJ, and Producer Idris Elba. 

The ad is part of the brand's summer campaign, called “Summer Like You're On Vacation” in which Stella encourages consumers to rethink their summer surroundings and trade up like they do when on vacation. Why not think about Philadelphia as Vista Del-Phia? New York as the Isla de Manhattan? Chicago as the Chi-Town Riviera? Stella is inspiring consumers to rethink “home” with a vacation mindset. 

“Summer equals vacation and vacation means that you splurge on that better drink, that nice restaurant, you name it. But vacations are never as long as we'd like them to be, so this summer we're inspiring consumers to trade up to our premium European lager and embrace that vacation state of mind, all summer long,” said Peter Van Overstraeten, VP, Premium & Super Premium Brands, Anheuser-Busch. 

The TV spot, created by VaynerMedia, is set in New York City and creative directed by Elba, with award-winning Director Henry Scholfield, also behind Dua Lipa's music video New Rules. The spot tells the story of how one man's ordinary summer is another man's extraordinary vacation through a series of scenarios that make home the place you want to write home about. It also features a never before streamed track produced by Idris himself. As a resident DJ at one of summer's hottest spots, Ibiza, Idris makes a convincing argument (with a wink and that trademark smile) that rethinking how you see wherever you are can give summer some added oomph."
